Kevin is VP of Design + Construction for 21c Museum Hotels. At 21c, Kevin’s focus is on the development, design and construction of new properties and capital improvements for existing properties. The 21c brand combines a contemporary art museum with a luxury hotel and award winning destination restaurants.
Kevin’s multidisciplinary background and passion for compelling and thoughtful architecture align with 21c’s commitment to culture, creativity and community.
Kevin is an architect and prior to 21c has worked for and with leading international design firms. As an architect, he was responsible for project and design leadership, as well as business development. He started his career with SHoP Architects where he led several high profile projects. At all stops, Kevin has worked with leadership to transform and improve design and business culture and create roadmaps for becoming smarter and better design practices.
Fennell received his Masters of Architecture and Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He has remained involved in education and has previously taught, lectured or been a guest critic at the University of Kentucky, University of Toronto, University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University.
Kevin is on the board of the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft and was instrumental in establishing the Kentucky district council of the Urban Land Institute in 2015.
