Menno Hilberts was previously the Managing Director for development in the USA at citizenM Hotels.

He joined the founding team of the award-winning hotel brand citizenM in 2008 in Amsterdam. He lead the international property rollout for citizenM with hotel developments in Amsterdam, Paris, London, New York, and the West Coast, managing a development portfolio in excess of $1 billion. He is holistically involved in all aspects of the development process, understanding that no detail is too small and quality and consistency are crucial when building a new brand.

Menno moved to the US in 2016 to lead the US rollout from the West Coast, with an aim to grow by eight new hotels a year.

Before joining citizenM, he had 20 years of experience in the international construction and real estate development industry, leading commercial and hospitality developments in Aruba, Spain, Morocco, Paris, and the Netherlands.
