David A. Black is Managing Director, Project & Development Services, where he leads JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group’s Project & Development Services practice for the Americas. David serves as a strategic advisor to hotel owners, investors, and hospitality REITs regarding development and project management. He collaborates with JLL’s Investment, Advisory, Asset Management, and Real Estate Investment Banking colleagues on project related transactions. He and his team have managed over $1.5 billion of hospitality projects in the last five years for some of JLL’s largest clients including Host Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt, Starwood, AJ Capital Partners, DiamondRock, KHP Capital Partners, Northwood Hospitality, Dorchester Group and many others. 

David has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality and real estate industries focusing on the development, design, and construction of luxury hotels, conference centers, corporate offices, and complex redevelopment projects. He began his career with the Corporate Design, Construction & Purchasing division at Four Seasons Hotels and went on to work for two developers on multiple ground-up hotels and mixed use projects before joining JLL. He is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration and a member of the Cornell Hotel Society and the Urban Land Institute.
